I've had 2 8ks and a 10k. I had some issues with my 2nd 8k, but Smitty send me a new motor and solenoid even though I was past my warranty. They aren't fast but they work.

It's under the hood. I took the solenoid out of the box and mounted it to the firewall. I had to buy more wire. I have/had full intentions of mounting the remote plug on the fender or grill but haven't done it yet.

I put mine in the console so the passenger can help if necessary. If I need to do it from out side I'll use the remote. Just something to think about.

That's how I did mine. I used a momentary 3 position switch so it so goes back to the middle/off when you let go of it. I also used a lighted switch for power so I wouldn't accidentally leave it on. I haven't seen the day star panels, but you want to put the 3 position switch somewhere that's easy t...
