Post aux light wiring questions
So I took off the stock driving lights and got me some top o' line harbor freight lights to go in my new windshield mounts. I know, nothing but the best for my jeep... Anyways, the lights are supposed to be 100 watts, so when I hooked them up with the stock wiring,  they were no brighter than the stock that i took off. Should I run all new wire and fuses/ relays for these new lights? Does the old driving light wiring prevent it from being any brighter? Since I obviously have very limited knowledge of these things, I'm looking for an easy way out that I can do myself. Thanks in advance...

Connect to battery straight see if brighter, if not then its the bulb.

Being that the wattage rating is different a new setup of wire wouldn't help or a better relay and good fusing
on old setup will do.

7-6 edit new setup would help ... i was using my fone and it auto corrected me lol sorry guys

If I understand what he's saying, I agree with half of what lovin says...hook it up direct and see if they're brighter. However, corroded and/or undersized wire will effect light output. A typical upgrade on XJs is upgrading the headlight wiring harness.

Thanks, Yea I thought about hooking straight to the battery just to see if the lights really are just POS. Ive kicked around the idea of putting in a small fuse block for aux lighting. I just liked the ease of hooking these into whats already there. Nothing good is ever easy.

Look at my XJ build thread. I made s fuse/relay box based on one I saw on either JeepForum or NAXJA.

That looked very clean. Was all of your relays in it, or just some for lights and such? I wish I could come up with something that nice, but I may have to buy something. Hopefully with some very good instructions (pictures).

There is a relay for each circuit in the box. I was selling the ones with 6 circuits for a while. If you're interested and can wait a few weeks send me a PM.
