Post Re: smccollamjr's XJ Build Thread
Drove it to Marietta, OH and back. First time it's been out of Kanawha County since the lift. It handled and tracked pretty good. The front end wonders a little but I think that's mostly the M/Ts following the groves in the pavement and possibly the fact I haven't corrected the track bar length yet. I did more downshifting than usual, but the 4.10s will take care of that. The speedo shows 70mph when I'm actually going 74 and for evey 100 miles the odo only reads 93. When I install the 4.10s I'll get the correct speedo gear. I'll check the gas mileage after today's trip. If I'm working there next week I may put the spare back in side and see if that makes any difference in gas mileage.

My wife drove it for the first time last night since the lift. I asked her if all her friends were jealous and wanted to ride with her. She just rolled her eyes...what do they know anyway :D

Thanks. The steel wheels & tires I borrowed from Tom because I sold my 235s before my 31s arrived.

Post Re: smccollamjr's XJ Build Thread
Corrected gas mileage was 17.5mpg. I normally would have gotten 20-22 in stock form. If I work here next week I'll take the tire off the top and see what difference that makes.

On another note, I've heard M/Ts don't do too well in the rain. I drove from Sissonville to Marietta, OH in a downpour this morning and I was actually impressed. They're not as good as the Michelin street tires on my other vehicle, but I was able to drive the speed limit without any trouble, and it was POURING the rain.
