Re: Q78-16 Super Swamper TSL (36x11) Tall and skinny

I bet with a few grooves and sipes, they wouldn't be too bad in the snow. Some of the street radial MT's do not have a lot of sipping and people run them year round. Plus since you wouldn't be relying on it for your everyday commute it probably wouldn't be too bad. They are skinny, so that would be ...

Re: Q78-16 Super Swamper TSL (36x11) Tall and skinny

The JK is my daily driver and is ran much more than my truck. I still have my 35" MTRs and originally planned on swapping back and forth. These are comfortable enough though I'm not too worried about it until it gets cold, snowy, and icy. Ive been averaging about 8k miles a year, so even if I ran th...

Re: Q78-16 Super Swamper TSL (36x11) Tall and skinny

I ran a set of 37's on my Dodge for a while. I like the Mud Grapplers, they are a great tire but they are noisy.

Re: Q78-16 Super Swamper TSL (36x11) Tall and skinny

Still very happy with them for a SUMMER daily driver tire. They are surprisingly comfortable for DD use. Noise is still VERY acceptable and I won't hesitate to run down to Fairmont for a Jeep ride with my almost 2yr old to go on a Jeep ride. Anyhow, I got passed by a Chevy running Nitto Mud Grappler...

Re: Control Arms

Synergy and Metalcloak have been a toss up for me. I ended up with Metalcloak coils and control arms on the 2 door (Metalcloak makes 2dr specific coils) along with Synergy brackets and mounts. The 4 door has Synergy coils on it and Synergy fixed lowers waiting to go on.

Re: Control Arms

Put some thought into what kind of joint fits your needs also. Longevity and maintenance is worth considering for a daily driver.

Don't get too wrapped up in joint flex/misalignment, more than likely it wont be the joint or arm that limits your travel.

Re: Control Arms

Synergy and Metalcloak both make nice control arms. Synergy arms are bent for ground clearance also along with the factory inward bend. Rock Krawler arms are bent for ground clearance, not tire clearance. This may result in a lost turning radius or running higher BS wheels than desired. Something to...

Re: Q78-16 Super Swamper TSL (36x11) Tall and skinny

I'm happy with them on the street also so far. The JK is my daily driver, so it sees plenty of street time. They all balanced out and 2 took less weight than expected. They are light in comparison to other Swampers and only spec 1lb heavier than my 35" MTR/Ks. They aren't as loud (YET) as I expected...

Re: Q78-16 Super Swamper TSL (36x11) Tall and skinny

making a nice little JK build there Slade. A "little" more than what I planned. Have to keep it daily driver comfortable and 100% easily inspectable though. Metalcloak 2.5" lift with some Synergy thrown in 1.25" Rough Country Body Lift Currie Antirock sway bars front and rear 4.88 gears Detro...

Q78-16 Super Swamper TSL (36x11) Tall and skinny

Got a set of trail tires for the JK. Gona have to get some use out of them this summer. Debated between 35x10.50 Boggers, SSRs, and these Q78-16 TSLs. Super Swamper TSL, Q78-16 (36x11) on factory 16" wheels with 1.25" wheel spacers (I have a set of 1.75" wheel spacers to go on eventually) http://i35...
