Removed body lift, redid clutch linkage, prepped sidepipes for install, cleaned up some wiring on the CJ. Hope to have it driving before fall.

I built and installed a cargo box in place of my 2D rear seat. The box is constructed from ¾” plywood and is wrapped in heavy-duty black “speaker box” felt. I used corner brace on the top and bottom corners and 4 pieces of drilled flat stock to attach the top to the sides. I then used two rubber-lined tube clamps to secure the box to the forward most rear seat mounts and two pieces of pre-drilled angle to mount the sides of the box to the lower seat belt mounts.

The box isn’t meant to keep thieves out, so I didn’t try to follow the contours of the roll bar, sub, etc. Instead, I wrapped a separate piece of plywood to form a “door” that flips down to cover the rear portion of the cargo area. The door flips over onto the main portion of the box so I can still carry tall objects. I used two pieces of corner brace to create the supports for when the door is folded down. However, I’m not sure this will be the final configuration as I’m unsure how the thin braces will hold up over time.

I’m also not sure what I want to do to keep the door from bouncing… maybe something with magnet latches. Anyway, this project actually took a couple of days. I allowed the spray glue to set up overnight before assembling everything earlier today. Next up, I plan to install a couple of cargo nets and d-ring tie downs to aid with cargo management.

I’m sorry for the crappy pics… they were taken at night with my phone and I apparently didn’t have the ISO configured correctly.

What brand did you buy?

I tried some Bosch, but had trouble with it, put an NGK in it with no issues.

Of course, now I'm getting a bad cat code, but I'm doing my best to ignore the CEL at the moment.
06 TJ, rusted out frame, fenders, and tub. Rocking a 6" body lift.

Why am I such a prick? Everything is relative, you should meet some of my friends.
