Decipher this wheel spec

Post by J-rod » Wed Aug 29, 2012 8:03 am

so Im leaning towards finding a set of used OEM wheels/tires that will fit the beater car for another year or so.

stock wheels are 14's

bolt pattern is 5 x 115mm High Positive Offset.

What does High Positive Offset mean? why cant it just be a number?

Im trying to find OEM GM wheels that will possibly fit it.

Building a capable off road Jeep is easy...building a street legal one that you can drive two hours away to wheel and then drive to work the following morning is the challenge.

Offset is in reference to the centerline of the wheel.

I knew what offset means...sorry for the poor questioning. I didnt understand the "high positive" part.

There are actuall numbers used when measuring the Offset allso. I'm just trying to help you get a grasp on the term "High Positive ofset".

The offset is just another measurement on a wheel. It's alot easier to measure the BS though.
