Differential Question

Post by lmcgrew79 » Tue Nov 19, 2013 11:26 pm

Im in the middle of installing a center locking diff in the discovery, the nose piece is what im installing off a 2000 model as mind didnt have it. Question is i have 2 diff/gear sets one older one newer, the older one spins a lil more freely than the on in the truck now, the wear on the gears is about the same, which one should i use?

You might get a better answer on a Land Rover forum. There used to be a guy on ARROC that had a Discovery, but I think it was more of a dd than a wheeler.

Friend of mine said, keep the one in that came out, something because the gears are worn in together and it wasnt making any noise. This is evening 2 and ive got to fill with fluid, put exhaust back on and attach cross braces back. This land rover is like a part time job with no pay.

It's ok to mix apples and oranges, so long as they're wired in series with a banana between them.
