Hydro assist ram mounting

Post by jperry7783 » Sat Mar 01, 2014 10:13 am

I put some upgraded steering on my Bronco, 1 ton tre's and 1 1/2" dom. I have a hydraulic ram that works good, I just can't fit the ram on the axle without moving my track bar mounts. I was considering mounting the ram to the frame and the pitman arm.

Is there some major problem I'm missing? Any thoughts on why this is a bad idea?

If I do that it will hit the track bar mount when fully extended.
I could mount it below the tierod, but I think it may be easily damaged there.

Thn build a skid that will protect it.

Seems like that's a lot of unnecessary strain to put on a pitman arm...

Anyway that you can mount it to the axle tube and run it straight to the knuckle?

The skid idea never even crossed my mind, I'll look into that. It may just make the 60 more of an anchor though with me only running 37s.

Vec, you can do better.
